Red Gates + Scenic Hikes at Fushimi Inari Shrine

One of the longest walks uphill and across many stairs to get through the famous Fushimi Inari-Taisha in Kyoto. There are plenty of bright orange-red torii gates throughout the stroll, adding vibrant color and contrast to the serene trees nearby.

After walking in and out of different gates and exploring alternating viewpoints on the mountains, you not only get a break from the chaotic crowds but also get to feel the calming spirit of Kyoto.

Zenness and Greenery at the Portland Japanese Garden

The sun shined so brightly on these plants and trees at the Portland Japanese Garden, making the yellow-green hues of nature come to life. I loved how there were so many different shades of green in this scene, all so clear and concise with their own uniqueness in full display, creating a calmness that can only be found here.
