The Architecture of Walt Disney Concert Hall

Stainless steel makes up the architecture of Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. I loved this post-modern style look and feel and wanted to capture a closeup view of it with the sun glaring down in the middle of the day, casting some cool saturated colors and hues.

Towering Sky: Soaring Heights and Skyscrapers

The close-up view of skyscrapers at downtown, where you get an up-close and personal view of the tallest skyscrapers in the city 30 floors above ground level. 

Colorful Lights in Chinatown at Night

So many lanterns all over Grant Ave in Chinatown that goes on and on for a few blocks. 

The lights turn on at night, giving extra sparkle and color to this tourist site. 

Black and White: Snowy Trees in Fairbanks

Fairbanks Trees Part II: Continuing to watch the snow fall, decorating the trees. 

It was one of those rare days where you only see a couple shades of colors outside...creating a pretty surreal winter scene. 

Magical Descent: Turquoise and Purple Hues on the Bridge

This small bridge really added to the tranquil atmosphere of the Japanese garden. I loved how the late afternoon sun started casting all of these shadows across the walkway and I knew I had to capture this view. I decided to make it even more dramatic and added in some contrasting hues effect. This created a scene that was even more magical and enchanting. The pastel aqua, turquoise and purple colors started coming to life. 

Shining Bright in Santa Monica: Reflections at the Pier

 

A bustling night out at the Santa Monica Pier. Crowds began to dissipate as we went further down the pier into pitch black darkness, hearing laughter in the distance and calming waves. 

From the other side, we could see the famous Pacific Wheel, altering into different colors and designs every other second. I particularly loved this color cast--a mix of orange and pink, creating that soft yet vibrant salmon color.
