Chinese Garden of Friendship: The Heart of Sydney

Welcome to "an enchanting oasis nestled in the heart of Darling Harbour."

A completely zen haven nestled in between all the hustle and bustle of Chinatown. Light rain and cloudy skies hover above us, but that adds onto the quiet stillness and tranquil atmosphere.

Into the New: Desert Landscapes at Palm Springs

A new year = a new beginning.

High above the mountains at over 8,000 feet, we are reminded of how quickly things can change and how vast the world really is. Opportunities present itself everywhere; we just need to take the leap in making that first step.

Crystal Clear Sunset Sky at Hefner Lake and Park

Hefner Lake and Park Part II: Just a couple of seconds left until the sun disappears from our vantage point.

At the lake, the sunset is visible with no obstruction - making it the best escape to catch a calming sunset on a weekday.

When in Oklahoma: The Lighthouse at Sunset

Hefner Lake and Park Part I: Arrived just in time to catch the peaceful, flawless sunset in action with the lighthouse as the main standout.

With barely a single cloud in the sky, we get almost a 360 degree view of the sunset colors by the still waters.

Dusk Colors Across Vancouver at Twilight

Kitslano Beach Part II: After the sun sets, you're faced with blue hour at twilight. The colors begin to mute a bit, the glow fading but still reflecting on the skyscrapers, and the mountains darken more, creating a marvelous contrast against the sky and waters.

Water Waves + Sunset Colors at Kitslano Beach

Kitslano Beach Part I: That moment where you're sitting right between golden hour and blue hour, where you still get the orange colors but the darkening sky creates a greater contrast.

The beauty of Vancouver is even more striking after the sunset, with shadows of the mountains coming alive.

Escape to the Coast: Corona Del Mar's Expansive Views

Corona Del Mar State Beach Park is known as the "Crown of the Sea."

It truly lives up to its name with mansions surrounding the park and beach (for miles and miles), gorgeous views from the waters, and the calming, coastal glamour that you can only dream of.

This was one of my favorite pics from this beach and I decided to add a cool blue filter to it to create a calming, yet somewhat moody photo to match the grey overcast skies. The different textures from the clouds create a slight pastel effect, which lends itself a nostalgic, ethereal, dreamy quality.

Flows like Water: Pacifica's Beaches and Striking Waves

Such strong currents, creating a spectacular view where waves wash up to the shore, delivering an animated art show with its foam-like surface.

The waves have such distinct textures all around, looking very 3D in a 2D frame.

Shadow Play: Rocks, Houses, and Expansive Views

A breezy day in the city knocking away the fog, clouds and grey skies.

I loved looking down from the hill into the city head on--seeing the houses, parks, and countless amount of trees across different spans of neighborhoods. The shadows coming from the mid-afternoon sun on the rocks was an extra bonus perk!

Behind the Rocks: Skyline and Skies Contrast

With the sun lower in the sky, shadows come into play a lot earlier in the day.

I particularly like how this angle looks behind the rocks. It creates a perfect contrast of both rocky mountain views and cityscape views.

La Jolla Cove's Descending Sun and Clouds

La Jolla Cove Part IV: A mix of cumulus clouds turned altocirrus clouds continue to swift through the sky and descend into the waters as the sun slowly sets.

Such a serene, classic view that has become one of my favorite days ever.

Red Sunset and Turquoise Blue Hues at La Jolla Cove

La Jolla Cove Part III: The shore with crashing waves, rocks, beaches, and mountain views from afar. Sunset is always the best time to examine the altering hues of the sky.

I wanted to cast a nice red undertone onto this picture, making the sunset warmer with a brighter glow. The red hues also add a bluer effect on the ocean, creating a stronger and more striking effect.

Over the Edge: Layered Rocks at Warm Water Cove Park

An overcast day in the city, but a stroll towards the edge of land is still a must. I love how tranquil this scenery is. Small, hidden gems of a park are the best for solo adventures.
