Blue Sunset Vibes Across Lake Union

One of those days I felt truly lucky when it came to the weather...gray skies all morning, afternoon and evening...and then surprise! Around sunset, the sky began clearing up, with wispy cirrus clouds in all directions, making for a calming, epic pastel sunset to end a beautiful day in Seattle.

Reduced Saturation and Reversed Hues Water Effect

Most of the time, images would be enhanced the usual way--upping the brightness, contrast, and saturation to bring out more of the color of an image and to represent the true beauty of what we are seeing with the naked eye. But what happens when we do the opposite? The reverse effect also has its own spectacular, dreamy quality.

I decided to test drive it with this image of Mission Bay and the stunning building water reflections. I reduced the saturation, contrast, and brightness, then changed up the hues so there's a bit of pink and aqua magic (my favorites) in the water. To my amazement, the picture may be darker but more of the details and surprising hints of colors in the background end up popping out more, offering a catchy glowy effect.

Aerial Landscapes of San Francisco Bay Area

Finally a perfectly crisp, clear, sunny day without a single cloud in the sky. I had to capture this quickly before missing this view and angle! A beautiful city and county with so many bridges and islands within reach--and even more astonishing from above!

Jack Early Park Color Blocked Collage

A cute neighborhood park calls for a fun collage! After exploring this small park in the Telegraph Hill area, I decided to compile all the pictures into a collage and add a color-blocked theme for it. I wanted a fog effect so I grayed out the background and included some noise to polish it out.
