Post-sunset always, always has the best light. Loved how blue the sky was at this time! It's perfect with a bit of a darkness and the lights are slowly starting to shine from the Space Needle.

Always live your life authentically.
But never be afraid to spice up an image with a filter.
The sky finally cleared up and I captured this photo of the sunset by the bay. The original photo was a lighter icier pastel shade of blue and yellow, but I wanted to give it a more tropical summer feel so I added yellow-green plus orange tones and extra contrast to give it an extra boost.

Want to explore the desert or relax on the beach? Why not...have both? This beautiful garden has a mixture of cacti and palm trees right next to each other, offering the perfect contrast on a bright blue sunny day.

One of the coolest cities with dazzling, colorful lights all across the city. This view, over 90 floors above, was no exception. The outline of North Chicago, Lake Michigan, and all the magnificent night lights stand out quite magically--making for an epic feast for the eyes.

One of those days I felt truly lucky when it came to the weather...gray skies all morning, afternoon and evening...and then surprise! Around sunset, the sky began clearing up, with wispy cirrus clouds in all directions, making for a calming, epic pastel sunset to end a beautiful day in Seattle.

I decided to test drive it with this image of Mission Bay and the stunning building water reflections. I reduced the saturation, contrast, and brightness, then changed up the hues so there's a bit of pink and aqua magic (my favorites) in the water. To my amazement, the picture may be darker but more of the details and surprising hints of colors in the background end up popping out more, offering a catchy glowy effect.

Finally a perfectly crisp, clear, sunny day without a single cloud in the sky. I had to capture this quickly before missing this view and angle! A beautiful city and county with so many bridges and islands within reach--and even more astonishing from above!

A cute neighborhood park calls for a fun collage! After exploring this small park in the Telegraph Hill area, I decided to compile all the pictures into a collage and add a color-blocked theme for it. I wanted a fog effect so I grayed out the background and included some noise to polish it out.

While walking around the city waterfront, we spotted this World Trade Center and had to get closer for a picture! The building had some of the most spectacular glass art and designs. What especially caught our eye was this sky bridge which had glass panel walls and columns with a triangle-shaped theme. The mid-afternoon sunlight added on to this stunning bridge and provided some awe-inspiring reflections.

Colorful, glowing night lights in the city of Portland by the waterfront. We spent a few hours walking along the water, watching it from daylight to twilight. The reflections by the river become more striking and visible as the day gets dimmer and darker, making for a very stunning water imagery.

Greenery at its best. On a cloudy, misty day, we trekked up to view this famous stream of waterfall. So calm, so scenic, a must-see for all.
Saturday, June 10, 2017
One of the biggest standouts in downtown Portland. The beautifully stacked glass cubes form a pyramid at the front of this building offering clear, clean-cut views of the clouds and trees in sharp, vivid hues.

Reading up on the history of the famous Sutro Baths is always a delight. Did you know it used to be a swimming pool? Today, it's a well-known, historical landmark in San Francisco right by Ocean Beach, surrounded by the Cliff House (which used to resemble a mansion), and the lovely Land's End mountain, rocks, and trails. On a perfectly crystal-clear day, I captured a view of this epic scenery from above.

Everywhere you go around Los Angeles county...you're pretty much surrounded by palm trees. It makes for a fantastic, scenic drive despite all the traffic. Up above in a cozy room near downtown, I see this gorgeous view of palm trees in the distance during sunset and had to capture this classic beauty. I added some sun flare, enhanced the saturation with pinkish orange hues, and blurred it out for a vintage-y vibe worth remembering for.

Chances of me exploring the desert are very slim...so the best way of touring the area? Through a desert garden in the city. In this small garden area, no shade can be found and hundreds of cacti surround us. Danger is everywhere...but seeing all of these plants together is a wondrous treat for all.

So many bright flowers in the Pacific Heights neighborhood, making this hilly hike a beautiful walk in nature. This one in particular caught my eye; I love the mix of yellow, orange, and salmon colors on this and had to capture a closeup pic.

The brand new (only a few years old!) eastern span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bridge is known for its spectacular design and architecture. The best way to capture this view? Close up and during sunset on a clear, cloudless day.

The animated drama 5 Centimeters per Second has some of the best and most creative artwork...ever. Every time I create something, I look back at the anime's design for inspiration. The use of colors and visual imagery continues to evoke new ideas in my work and I particularly love how they depict reality with such a dreamy quality.
While editing this photo of a small bridge at a park, I decided to change up the hues and saturation with a range of pastel blue, purple, and pink colors for a smooth, delicate look and feel. A little bit of blur adds on to the etherealness of it and provides a mix of serenity and illusory to reality.

Stunning neoclassical art and architecture can be found at the interior and exterior of the Legion of Honor museum. With a partly cloudy sky and beautiful sunlight from all directions, the building radiates from afar.

Walked around a spacious, mysterious park filled with all sorts of natural wonders. After a half hour, I stumbled upon gorgeous palm tree goodness and had to get a closeup of this one! These are naturally green colored leaves (of course) but I decided to change up the hues to give it a tropical, summer vibe by adding aqua and pink hues. Vacation state of mind...here we come!

The city with one of the most breathtaking, colorful, awe-inspiring skylines? Chicago, for sure, is one of them. I loved looking out the window over 90 floors above ground level, peering outside into the night lights of the city, seeing every movement, building, and vast scenery in front of me. At this moment, you realize how small yet how big the world truly is. We're all in this together; let's work hard together and make the world a better place for everyone.

Absolutely bright and beautiful rare flower found at a small bonsai garden. With the perfect sunlight after the morning rain, I captured a striking closeup of this flower!

Waking up bright and early can be cumbersome but with this gorgeous, clear sunrise of the Bay Bridge to start my day, it is all worth it.
Tuesday, April 4, 2017
After seeing some breathtaking clouds while flying through the California skies, I decided to create an image where I'm walking on thin air, stepping on clouds and fully enjoying the scenery. I changed the sky and gave it a mix of blur, noise, rainbow hues and circle patterns for a transformative look. I also added some sun flare and blur to the clouds for extra sparkle.

When it's officially spring time, the first thing that comes to mind is beautifully bright, gorgeous white and pink sakura flowers! And just in time for my annual photo.
Friday, March 24, 2017
That moment when you peer out the window and see your plane moving across the sky with a stream of puffy, heavenly clouds surrounding the nearby area, covering (and then revealing) any (and every) hint of sunlight.
Sunday, March 19, 2017
One of the best highlights of going to the Oakland Zoo was seeing these long, tall, gorgeous giraffes! We couldn't get enough of them and kept taking more and more pictures. I wanted to capture them in action and also their stunning reflections. Post-process, I decided to reduce the saturation and give it more of a slight black and white effect.
Monday, March 13, 2017
A sunny, breezy day makes the perfect day to escape to a beautiful hilly park in the city. I loved how tranquil this park is, the spectacular views it offers of nearby mansions, the Twin Peaks mountains and the breathtaking blue sky. I added light pastel touches of pink and blue to this collage to further magnify the peaceful scene.
Monday, March 6, 2017
I'm always in awe of breathtaking, magnificent landscape scenery. Unfortunately, it's more of an uncommon scenario where you have to be there at the right place at the right time...and most likely, it comes unexpectedly. I decided to create my own version of aurora lights and sparkling stars imagery by altering a simple photo of a mountain completely. I added stars to the background. changed the hues, contrast, and saturation of the orange-green sky, and created slight reflections and gradient to the ocean. The aftermath is a bright and radiant picture with different textures and hues that offer fresh inspirations.

The Crocker Galleria mall in downtown San Francisco has one of the coolest contemporary atrium designs inside. The colors, reflections, and lighting change based on the time of day and the current weather circumstances, offering versatile photography moments at any time.
Thursday, February 16, 2017
The perfect, sunny day after weeks of nonstop rain. After making my way to Corona Heights Park, I captured this bright view of downtown San Francisco's ever growing, rising rows of skyscrapers. I loved the rock formations at this park so included them at the forefront of this epic scene.
Saturday, February 11, 2017
Was obsessed with all the different Cloud Gate sculpture pictures at Millennium Park on the internet, so had to see it for myself in daylight and during the night hours. It's particularly stunning at night with the clear skies, a hint of clouds, and the skyscraper reflections. This is such a versatile sculpture that offers so many different photo opportunities and perspectives—clear days, foggy days—there is never a bad picture.

These boats are all aligned so perfectly at the port by the waterfront. The cloudy sky and mid-afternoon light add an extra surreal touch to this image. The overcast skies and the boats also reflect upon the gray-aqua hued waters, giving it a magical, dreamy vibe on a breezy, wintry day.

Westfield Mall Part II: And the beauty of the dome continues...this time with the Lunar New Year celebration inside Westfield Mall. I love these streams of red Chinese lanterns under the dome and how it adds that extra bright, festive mood to the atmosphere.
Saturday, January 14, 2017
The famous Cupid's Span arrow art sculpture in the Embarcadero waterfront is a classic among all natives and tourists. This can be captured in so many different angles and ways...but nothing beats having the gorgeous, ever-changing skyscraper skyline behind.
Friday, January 6, 2017
The Grace Cathedral church in Nob Hill has the most heavenly interior design and architecture inside made of raw concrete and steel. Marvelous, colorful artwork and creations surround the cathedral offering inspirations everywhere. I captured this picture and gave it a positive spin with tweaks to the color. I adjusted the hue and saturation, and added in hints of purple and blue for a cool feel.

While walking by the pier along the waterfront, I noticed these simple, symmetrical trees aligned together across the water and had to capture this spectacular photo, especially with the mid-afternoon sun shining below and clouds sweeping across the sky. The extra glow and the reflections don't hurt either!
