Sandia Mountains Part I: The best time to descend from the Sandia Peak? Right around sunset, as the sky jumps from sunset to twilight, into dusk.
It was quite an impressive scene going from 10,000 feet above sea level to 4,000 feet in a tramway, catching the scatters of lights, colors, and changes in terrain as we navigate rocky mountains of all shapes and textures to the desert and cityscape views.
Can't help but admire this marvelous lights event in downtown San Francisco, with illuminating lights shining bright across numerous famous buildings in the city.
Each building features striking digital art ranging from 5 to 10 minutes long from a diverse range of artists. I particularly loved this one at the Pacific Coast Stock Exchange building. Saturated colors in a fun gradient and sparkling background shine across all the columns and exteriors, ranging from turquoise, magenta, and midnight blue shades, creating a truly transcendent experience.
Filoli Gardens Part I: Rustic shades of orange, red, and muted green uplifts these trees at the famous garden on the mountains. With a mix of holiday lights, decor, and bright trees surrounding the area, it's the perfect way to celebrate the in-between seasons.

I decided to add a playful spin to this skyline view, giving it a cooler blue and silver-like tone, adding in a mix of abstract light effects that resemble sparkling glitter.

Sailing through the ocean passing through island after island in the British Columbia area, watching the sun slowly fade away as dusk begins to appear in front of us.
Duck Lake Part III: We can feel the clear sky slowly fading away, with tons of high clouds rolling in a few hours before sunset.
The clouds end up creating an astonishing work of art, with a monochrome palette, unique shapes and textures, and fiercely clear water reflections.
One of the most aesthetically beautiful Chinatowns ever with bright red lanterns adorning all the streets across this neighborhood. The sun decides to pop out briefly, lending some extra saturation to this day.
Castle of São Jorge Part II: This castle offers the best 360 degree city views of Lisbon. I particularly enjoyed this perspective through a small window above the castle, peeking directly at the narrow streets filled with zigzagged houses decked with their traditionally bright red rooftops.

There's so much we can't see with our naked eye when we look at the night sky in a city polluted with lights. But we can always use our imagination and create our own imagery of how we want to perceive the world.
I love the downtown night views of Dallas, especially with the illuminating lights of the Bank of America skyscraper in the near distance. I decided to manipulate this image by adding in green and purple hues, enhancing the brightness and contrast, and decorating the sky with colorful confetti-like lights that resemble fireworks and a dreamlike reality.

Castle of São Jorge Part I: One thing I've always been fascinated with Lisbon is how their 25 de Abril Bridge resembles San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge (and the Bay Bridge).
It's so easy to get the two bridges mixed up if you were to look at it quickly at a distance...until you see this view with all the red rooftops and realize how different the two cities actually are.
Striking blue skies and water light up the Cabo Carvoeiro, a tremendous spot with wide landscape and cliff views from all 360 degrees in Peniche.
The details and the textures of this flower are beyond surreal. It's a pretty small flower but I had to zoom in really closely to show all of the amazing intricacies of this!
I'm always drawn to abstract art, anything with a dreamy aesthetic, and a colorful background. I decided to blend those two together by blurring a bunch of bright lights in the background and decking it with snow imagery throughout the scene.
"Pulse Topology" is a transformative piece of interactive art by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, composed of thousands of light bulbs suspended at different heights that create a series of crests and valleys. The streams of lights evolve every step of the way, changing based on someone's unique heartbeat, the amount of heartbeats in the room, and created to resemble the ups and downs of a real life cardiogram.
Came across this absolutely stunning view of the edges of northern San Francisco during a weekend hike and had to stop to capture it. The bright green grass, turquoise-blue waters, cliffside views of the nearby beaches and Presidio park created this picture-perfect moment.

I decided to manipulate this photo a bit, adding in green-blue pastel hues to make it resemble more like a painting. I also incorporated colorful leaves and some human element so it appears I'm stepping "into the scene."

These stunning winter trees are in perfect alignment, making for a breathtakingly, asymmetrical photo capturing the beauty of winter in the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden.
The clouds begin appearing in the sky in a nice, sweeping fashion, creating special reflections across all the skyscrapers in Lower Manhattan. The modern skyscrapers and clear glass blends so well with the surroundings, generating a similar hue and vibe.
As the hours begin approaching golden hour, the mountains start adopting that golden glow, offering stunning reflections of the snowy mountains in the water on a crystal clear blue sky day.
Once you leave golden and blue hour, you're left with the last few drops of twilight, some semblance of gradient color in the sky before all becomes dark.
This part is the most magical--waiting for the natural light to slowly fade, skies darkening, artificial lights gleaming in the distance.
